This season, the boys’ track and field team had a season to remember. As a team, they won multiple big invitationals and OCCs. This year has been full of battles, from rough weather to mental challenges. These students stood out this season in their own way as they broke records and improved.

Jet Cornelius: Runner and Jumper
Sophomore Jet Cornelius is in his second year of track and field. Cornelius competes in the 4×1, 4×2, the 100 and long jump. He has made great progress this season as he placed second in the state for his event long jump with a 22’ 3.5”.
“My favorite part of the track and field season is having fun at Meets,” Cornelius said. This season has been a mental and physical challenge, from the weather to balancing school. He continues to work hard and strives to become better each day. When not running track, he is a part of the Varsity football team and the JV basketball team. In the next two years, Cornelius is on track to do great things in his various sports.
Jonah Kitzmiller: Runner and Jumper
Sophomore Jonah Kitzmiller is in his first year of Track and Field at Olentangy. He runs the 100, 200, and 400 meters and competes in the high jump. He has been on the track team since middle school. This is his first year at OHS; track has been one of his favorite parts.
This season has challenged him with new coaching styles and teammates. However, he was able to make the most of it and continue to work hard. Kitzmiller will continue to grow throughout his years at Olentangy and his Track and Field career.
Christopher “CJ” Sanna: Thrower
Junior Christopher “CJ” Sanna is in his third year of track and field. Sanna also plays football for Olentangy. He broke the Ohio Capital Conference Cardinal record while at the Ohio Capital Conference on May 14th. Sanna threw a new record of 58 feet and 5 inches.
“My favorite event is discus because I normally win,” said Sanna. “I think the hardest part of the season is staying consistent.”
