Girls Soccer seniors celebrate

This 2025 fall season, the Girls Soccer team has had an impressive season with a total score of 10-4-5, and a conference score of 3-2 (3rd place). The team’s senior night was held on Oct. 2 against Central Crossing High School. It was seen as a very special moment for Varsity captains Addi Hanlon ‘26 and Caiya Clemons ‘26.

“It was emotional knowing it was one of our last games, but it made me appreciate how far we’ve come and how close we are as a team,” Caiya Clemons ‘26 said.

Center back, Clemons shares a senior tradition of going to restaurant Noodles & Company before games, and expresses how special it is being in their last season. Throughout the season the girls have become much closer, which creates a safe environment. 

“Trust the girls around you, and put in effort everyday,” Addy Hanlon ‘26 said.

The team captains have also worked hard to help the team grow through the season, as well as be leaders to the underclassmen. The team has six seniors, so far two confirmed to continue their athletic careers for soccer in college. Macy Boysel, who is varsity goalkeeper, will play D1 at Radford University, and Caiya Clemons who is one of two captains will play D1 at Ball State University.

“At the start of the season, we were still figuring out our positions and learning how to work together. By the end, we communicated better, played harder for each other, and believed more in what we could do as a team,” Caiya Clemons ‘26 said.

It is important for the team to bond, and be able to work together from an emotional standpoint, however, it is also crucial to be able to have technical skills down.

“Everyone elevated how they were scoring and the different plays that we created along with our corner kicks,” Addison Walker ‘28 said.

The team put in the time, and the effort to learn, and shape their skills which helped them succeed in the long run. This assisted them receive third place in the Ohio Capital Cardinal Conference.
