Leadership, service and connection are traits everyone wants to embody and demonstrate. As we were two months into the new year, the Braves have an opportunity to apply and strengthen their skills at the Leadership Summit. 

“The Olentangy Student Leadership Summit is a unique learning opportunity for high school students across the district focused on meaningful leadership development, authentic connection, and purposeful service,” said Cole Heather, coordinator of the leadership summit.

This summit will take place on Friday, March 13, at Olentangy High School. Several people from across the district’s high schools will also be invited. On this day, students will take part in various activities and workshops focused on leadership and community. This event aims to ensure students are engaged and have meaningful conversations. As well as hands-on service experience.  

“There are many benefits for students, they can build leadership skills, connect with peers across the district, discover their voice and strengths, and increase confidence and motivation,” Said Cole.

There are 13 workshops to choose from. Examples of activities available to students include making handmade cards and bookmarks, which will then be handed out to people as an act of kindness. Another opportunity is participating in a student-led service project, which will be a donation drive to support people in the community. There will also be a keynote speaker. 

The Leadership Summit is an excellent program that teaches you and helps you develop essential skills. The program is also interactive, where you can choose which organization you would promote to receive the donations. It gives you a chance to request an organization that aligns with your personal beliefs and passions. With that, there are multiple activities to choose from. You can customize your day based on individual interest.
