Olentangy Showchoir sings their way to success

The Heart of Orlando is a national competition for high school students across the country. It includes divisions of Mixed show choir, Treble (all-girls) and Concert choir. This is the one last chance for the show choir to give it their all. This competition is at a high level and competitive. It is a selective competition and a huge opportunity for students to showcase their hard work.

“Heart of America is the show choir nationals competition we have chosen to go to this year. Groups from across the country come to compete at a very high level. ” Claire Langon sophomore at OHS and Dance captain for the Show Choir said

They have put an incredible amount of hard work to get to this competition and put their all in competitions that led to regional competitions. To get to this point the show choir has practiced for hours weekly. They spend their free time contributing to the team practices and weekends to go to competitions across Ohio.

“Every rehearsal in school and after school, every regional competition has led up to HOA. Everyone has worked incredibly hard putting in numerous hours every week to make our shows what they are.” Langon said.

Even with the hard work and struggle their love of show choir has built a community for them. They enjoy what they do and that’s what makes their shows even better. The Show Choir has traveled to many competitions throughout the season. They have had the opportunity to make many memories and saw many amazing performances form show choirs across the country.
