Important Information
Olentangy will use ParentSquare as of this school year. The program is “a simple, easy-to-use, secure platform” to allow parents to communicate, RSVP and more. Parents will be sent a link to join, so check your emails.
Students will be able to see their classes on Aug 13. Log in to PowerSchool, and students can check in the schedule space. Another program available in Aug is the Common App for seniors. Seniors who plan to apply to college should make an account. Students can start their applications Aug 1.
On Aug 13 Freshman orientation will occur. Hosted by BKOM, a group of upperclassmen, the day will include a tour, a speech from the staff and pictures. Freshmen will also have a pep rally hosted by the Student Council.
For non-freshmen, pictures will also take place. Emails will be sent out with times for students, but the time frame will be 8:00 – 11:00 A.M. If you are not available to take pictures, retakes will be Sep 26. Students will also be able to buy parking spots, and seniors can start painting their spots on the 13.
Then on Wednesday, Aug 20, students will start school. Olentangy High School students will start and end at the same times as previous years (7:20 a.m. – 2:35 p.m.). On Aug 26, Curriculum Night will take place for Parents. This is a time for parents to connect with teachers and understand the expectations for their child.
Students will also have a couple of days off in the next few months: Sep 1, Sep 15, Oct 17, and Oct 20.
Fun Events Coming Up
As stated before, STUCO will host their first freshman rally. They will teach Freshman chants, explain the importance of school spirit and have a blast.
The Kick-off rally will take place in the first two weeks of school. STUCO will be highlighting football, cheer, band and other fall activities. Follow @tangy_stuco on Instagram to learn about upcoming events.

For students interested in theater, join them on Aug 22 for information on the season. Auditions for their fall show will take place Aug 26.
Homecoming will take place on Sep 20, with a spirit week and rally leading up. More information will be released closer to the dance.
