Letter From The Editor - Summer 2025

Dear Readers,

Welcome to our new monthly newsletter published on the Online Beacon website. Our goal is to keep readers informed on journalism and how to support our programs.

Over the last couple of weeks, the website has been under construction. With a new school year, the website was ready for a glow-up. But the website has not been the only active part of Multimedia. Let’s get into everything we have been up to this summer!

The Site Redesign

Bella Starr ’26, the new Chief Editor of the website, has taken a deep dive into the site. With a central vision in mind, Starr transformed significant aspects of the site. Her goal was to make it feel like a “real” news website.

Taking a peek at the site, you can see a more modern look, with all the work the students have done on display. The most significant change is that each topic has its own designated section, which has been customized to elevate the articles.

Another change is the addition of an Arts section, which will contain all school-based arts (Music, Theatre, and Visual).  Within the space, students can find links to buy tickets for upcoming shows and events.

One of our favorite updates is the sports space, which has even more coming. The students in Multimedia have a significant passion for sports. Soon, the space will include major upcoming projects.

Lastly, we have a fresh new logo to give the space a professional and clean feel. We would love for you to take a moment to explore the site. Leave a comment on your favorite part of the new site.

Olentangy Sport Network Social Media is Rolling!

Addie Russ ’26, our new OSN head designer, has been working hard. With daily reposts and post updates on sports at Olentangy, the page has been thriving! While we look forward to the upcoming year, we are excited to fill this social media page with fun and engaging content.

Podcasts Are Coming Back

We are excited to announce that podcasts are coming back to Olentangy! Starr hosted The Morning Show in her sophomore year and is ready to host again. Starr last year studied podcasting for her AP Research Project and is excited to continue her exploration. All podcasts will be available on Spotify and YouTube.
