Popular fast-food chain, McDonald’s, announces their latest meal collaboration with K-Pop superstar performance group, BTS.  The meal will be distributed to 50 countries around the world.

“I just know the songs from BTS’s music video, but I am happy that they are having a meal with McDonald’s,” Linh Do’21 said.

The menu will arrive in the U.S on May 26. Items highlighted in the special meal includes 10 piece chicken McNuggets, medium fries and a medium coke with Sweet Chili and Cajun sauce inspired by BTS. They are also known as the Bangtan Boys and are a K-Pop group formed by Big Hit Entertainment in 2013, with seven members whose stage names are RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook. 

“I’m kind of excited for the BTS Meal collaboration because it will draw in more customers. I did not find out until the other worker who told me there was one coming out soon. McDonald’s does not really update us with any news for some reason. I don’t know who they are, but I’m happy about it,” Assistant Manager Nick said. 

With the BTS collaboration, McDonald’s is expected to have increased in sales and is the first meal to be sold across the continent. BTS are the latest icons to have signature menu items featured in a new way and are important because they have had memories as they developed strong relationships within the group with the fast-food restaurant. Customers can place contactless orders or drive-thru. 

“I can’t wait for May 26 for the BTS meal. I hope they have photocards to come with it and maybe little toys for the Happy Meal,” Nishita Chipurapalli ‘23 said. 

Along with success in the music industry worldwide, the sedulous group have teamed up with other major companies and now they are ambassadors for luxury brand, Louis Vuitton. 

BTS continues to thrive and work hard to achieve success within the music industry. And they teamed up with other companies as the first K-Pop group to pursue the oppurtunity. Customers have the date to mark on calendars for the release of the meal collaboration, McDonald’s will continue to have updates and more surprises in further weeks.
