“Hoppers” is Pixar’s Next Breakthrough

Pixar has returned with their newest feature-length film, “Hoppers”. The story follows an animal lover, Mabel, who finds a way to transfer her mind into a life-like beaver, to find out more about the animal world to try and save their habitat. After the teasers and plot was officially out to the public, people were skeptical about this movie, seeing how it could be seen as another throwaway Pixar movie, like their last movie, “Elio” which was a flop. But through its first week, “Hoppers” has flipped everyone’s expectations.

Through its first weekend at the box office, “Hoppers” grossed $46 million worldwide, and is an early success for Disney. It opened to a 97% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, which was the highest rating for Pixar since “Toy Story 4” and Ratatouille. With Hoppers being scored up with some of Pixar’s all-time great movies, it will only push the movie out further and grow it exponentially.

The movie begins with Mabel Tanaka growing up with her grandma in the city, with a nearby forest filled with different kinds of animals, and as Mabel grew up, she grew an appreciation for beavers in particular. And when Mabel finds out the Mayor wants to put a freeway in that cuts through the forest, she knows she needs to find a solution.
