Over the summer of 2024, viewers from around the world tuned in each week to catch up with their favorite islanders of “Love Island USA” season six. As the summer came to an end, Love Island went with it. Viewers were sad to see it go but were intrigued to see what was next to come.
Across the globe, “Love Island All-Stars” season two was released on Jan. 29, 2025.
“Ever since the end of ‘Love Island USA’ I have been so excited to see what’s next,” Maura McGrath ‘27 said
The majority of similarities include the main idea of singles who live in a luxury villa for the summer as they all compete for love, attention and a cash prize. The big difference is the “Love Island All-Stars” contestants are islanders who returned from previous seasons and initial couples are decided by the viewer’s votes. The presence of prior islanders brings extra layers of drama, strategy and competition. This All-Stars season was filmed in South Africa in the early months of 2024 and hosted by Maya Jama and Iain Sterling. This past summer, viewers of “Love Island U.S.A.” were excited for another taste of Love Island-related talk.
“I love Love Island. I believe anyone can watch it because it’s easy to follow along with and it’s a perfect mix of gossip, comedy and overall, very emotional moments. I will forever recommend this show to everyone because I truly think it’s amazing,” Sydney Funk ‘27 said.
Funk has kept up with Love Island throughout the years and has been excited to watch the next season. Although some people don’t have “Love Island: All Stars” in priority.
“I enjoy Love Island but will not be watching the new season right now because I’m currently watching a different show,” Katie Heyd ‘25 said.
Regardless of the amount of hype around “Love Island: All Stars,” it is undeniable viewers will be in for a whirlwind of emotions.
