Olivia Rodrigo announces new initiative for reproductive health

Olivia Rodrigo announces new initiative for reproductive health

Before her first concert of the GUTS World Tour, 21-year-old singer Olivia Rodrigo announced her new reproductive health initiative: Fund 4 Good. She said a portion of ticket sales from the tour will go to this fund, which is aimed to help girls, women and people who seek help for reproductive health care.

For the part of her tours which will occur in North America, she plans to work with the National Network of Abortion Funds. Her goal is to help those impacted by the barriers set up after Roe v. Wade was overturned in 2022.

“She also said fans can learn more at National Network of Abortion Funds tables, which will be at GUTS tour stops across North America,” according to TeenVogue.

Rodrigo is not the only artist to support this movement. Lucy Dacus, Lizzo and Paramore are just a few who have also contributed to the cause. They all reach to prevent gender-based violence and proper education on the topic.

“It’s great to see women supporting other women, especially in the world of health,” sophomore Bella Starr said.

Multiple fans have made posts on social media to show their appreciation and support for Rodrigo, and her efforts towards a passionate cause. It can be rare to see influencers use their platforms for good and raise awareness.

“It makes me feel supported and I appreciate her activism,” Starr said.
