Alexander becomes head coach

Dominique Alexander starts his third year at OHS as a physical education and health teacher with a new job opportunity: Head Varsity coach for the boys lacrosse team.

Alexander has a passion for the game like no other. Not only is he committed to the game he coaches, but he also plays for the Major League Lacrosse team , The Ohio Machine.

One of the biggest accomplishments and best moment of his sports career, Alexander said, was winning the MLL championship.  The Ohio Machine beat The Denver Outlaws 17-12 this past August.

“ It was the best feeling. I got to experience what a true champion feels like. Hard work really does pay off,” Alexander said.

Winning a national title further proves why Alexander fits for the head coach position. A head coach has knowledge of the game, motivation to watch his players succeed, leadership qualities and enthusiasm according to CSP(customer service profiles).

“My favorite part of being a coach is having the opportunity to work with players, and watch them achieve their personal goals and grow as a player on and off the field,” Alexander said.

Senior Charlie H. said he’s thrilled to be back on the field with his teammates and to see what the upcoming season has to offer.

“I think Coach Alexander is a great fit for the head coach position because he’s been with us for a couple years as the defensive coach. He also is a MLL player, so I’m pretty pumped to see him as head coach,” Charlie said.

Overall, Alexander is eager for the upcoming season as well as the players. Both want to enjoy the season, and want to win as they go.
