16 Best and Worst CBJ moments

8 Worst Moments:

1. Beginning the 2015 season with an 0-8 record, then being the last team in the NHL to earn any points in the standings *cringes*

 

2. Having the worst record in the NHL at the end of the 2011-12 season. 29-46-7. Ugh.

3. Being rated the worst NHL team “of all time” by cheatsheet.com in February 2016. Seems a bit extra, but whatever.

 

4. Ranking 28th out of 30 teams in NHL Attendance records in the 2012-13 season according to espn.com.

5. When 13-year old CBJ fan Brittanie Cecil died after being hit by a stray puck during a game against the Calgary Flames on March 16, 2002. This was the first fan fatality in the NHL’s history.

 

6. Making the playoffs for the first time in franchise history during the 2008-09 season…then being swept by the Detroit Red Wings in four emotionally draining games.

7. The 2015-16 season. Literally, just the entire season.

 

8. The amount of bandwagon fans  accumulated during the 16 game win streak in the 2016-17 season. Absolutely infuriating.

2. The Jackets achieved their status of the second longest winning streak of 16 games in NHL history for their 2016-17 season. nhl.com

3. In March of 2013, the Blue Jackets were moved to the Eastern Conference in the Metropolitan division along with Carolina, New Jersey, both New York teams, Philadelphia and Washington . bluejackets.ice.nhl.com

 

4. The Blue Jackets traded Steve Mason for Sergei Bobrovsky with the Philadelphia Flyers in 2013 which improved the amount of games won by the Jackets to be more than the games won by the Flyers. nhl.com

 

5. When the Blue Jackets played the Montreal Canadiens and won by a shut-out of 10-0 while the Canadiens were first in the league. nhl.com

6. In 2009 and 2014, the Blue Jackets made it to their conference quarterfinals, but lost before progressing further toward the achievement of Stanley Cup Champions. nhl.com
