On Monday, Nov. 4, the Braves took the field under the stadium lights. The girls showed up and gave it their all as they played flag football to come out on top and get the win. The seniors fought hard to win one last time. Their chances appeared bright after the first game with a big win over the freshman to make it to the finals against the Juniors. But the Juniors were not going down without a fight; it was a close game, but the Juniors took the win once again.
“My favorite memory was our comeback and getting the win,” junior Addie Russ said.
This year the Braves showed up with school spirit and there was a total of 300 tickets sold.
“I loved getting to cheer on my friends from the stands. Everyone was so hype it was so much fun,” sophomore Katelyn Homan said.
DECA was able to raise over $3,600 for the Ohio Muscular Dystrophy Association Summer Camp. The money raised is to help make kids with muscular dystrophy get to experience new memories they would not get to do without the camp and help them make memories to last a lifetime.
“The highlight of the game was getting to see the whole school and community get involved and raise money for such an important cause,” senior Grace Nelson said.
Powderpuff was organized by Kenzie Hicks, Aesha Kadiru, Grace Nelson and Lauren Petska. Their senior project, The Best of 52, raises money for the camp and kids everywhere who often say it is “the best week of the year.” Everyday students help the community in countless ways. As our students continue to be BRAVE and lead by example to others, they hope to make a difference and pass on traditions to give back.
