Taylor Worthington is a senior high school student with a love for her community. Known for being the most decked out for spirit weeks and always ready to give a hand, Worthington helps make the OHS community stronger. Along with her talents of connection she is a vital part of Student Council (Stuco) as the President.
“It’s less about the leadership, it is about the connection of people and the organization,” Worthington said, “Stuco has taught me a lot about community as we all have a common goal, and it depends on who we are.”
Worthington has been an active member of the program since her freshman year. Peers say her energy she brought to the program was full of excitement; therefore, it makes sense she would become the queen of spirit her junior year as she was given the role of chairwoman.
“All you do is make the poster; it was nothing world changing. I felt like I got to communicate and make myself more involved within the community,” Worthington said.
After being excellent at her job, Worthington ran for President and won. Throughout her time as President, she has created hype at pep-rallies and been dressed up in wacky outfits for spirit week.
“Taylor isn’t the type of leader to just tell everyone what to do – she leads with kindness, and positivity,” current Chairwomen Anika Ghanekar ‘26 said. “Additionally, she always makes sure to see the bright side of scenarios and leaves people room to share their opinions.”
But she’s not only a member of Stuco, but she is also the historian for the theatre troop here.
“My theatre career has not been linear, which is different from most,” Worthington said. “Theater has taught me you put yourself in a box, but you are so much more than that box you’ve created.”
With her history of being a performer, crew member and officer people have been impacted by her presents within the program. From her friends to her castmates Worthington works with students and staff to make sure they feel included.
“Taylor has a way of driving her positive attitude to bring others to success. Through her grit and extreme work ethic she brings people together. It is truly remarkable,” Johnny Redmen ‘25 said.
While her impact on this school is undeniable, her future will be even brighter as she plans to attend University of Cincinnati next fall to study data science and psychology, with a minor in artificial intelligence. From a performer to a President, to a shoulder to cry on, Worthington is the prime example of what a Brave is: balanced, resilient, has a positive attitude, strong values and empathy.
