Taylor Swift has broken records left and right. Swift was the youngest artist to receive a grammy for album of the year, according to Insider, and she broke the record of the most attended concert by a female artist in U.S. history according to Capital FM.
Swift’s current “Eras Tour” brings fans of all ages together to celebrate her numerous eras throughout her 19 years of singing. The show starts with her seventh studio album, “Lover,” and ends with her most recent addition, “Midnights.”
Throughout the three hour show, there are 44 songs played throughout the night, including two different surprise songs each night, without repetition. She sings numerous hits like “Shake it Off” and “Anti Hero,” as well as some of her less-known songs like “Tolerate it” and “The Archer.” The show brought together “an average of 54,000 fans” each show, as stated by Business Today. Those in attendance arrived in sparkly dresses, costumes referencing different music videos and song lyrics and friendship bracelets were traded throughout the crowds.
On Aug. 31, 2023, Swift announced she will bring the concert to the big screens across North America. “Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour” is a two hour and 40 minute documentary which follows the concert and different eras throughout the show.
“I really appreciate Taylor Swift’s style in music so I’m really interested in seeing the movie once it comes out,” Ava Kim ‘25 said.
Swift has encouraged people to wear their elaborate costumes from the concerts and to trade the friendship bracelets with one another.
“I didn’t see her during the first leg of the tour, so I’m excited to watch the movie before experiencing the concert next year,” Annabelle Newman ‘25 said.
According to People Magazine, the concert film has broken the all-time record for the most tickets sold in a day from AMC. The concert film made $26 million in just one day of sales.
