Give, give and give some more
Holiday seasons are meant to be for giving, but most of the time people are more concerned with receiving. To celebrate the holidays as intended, here is a list of local charities and churches to donate to this season:
Besa is dedicated to supporting those who need it most by connecting people and businesses with community service. Help by volunteering, donating and giving back to the community. For more information, go to givebesa.org.
The Center for Family Safety and Healing (TCFSH)
TCFSH treats victims, advocates for change and conducts research for all aspects of family violence beyond intervention and prevention. Help by donating new stuffed animals, travel-size hygiene products and children’s books. For more information, go to familysafetyandhealing.org.
CGFSM is a partnership with Delaware County churches. They provide a place for people who aren’t able to afford clothing or a meal without scrutiny. Donate or volunteer for CGFSM, and visit commongroundfreestore.org for more information.
Founded in 1865, the Salvation Army has supported those in His name without discrimination for 130 years. They provide food for the hungry, relief for disaster victims, clothing and shelter for the homeless and opportunities for underprivileged children. Help by donating, assisting with the Red Kettles during Christmas season and volunteering. For more information, go to salvationarmy.org.
