For the fourth year in a row, Olentangy Theatre Troop and classes will hold their annual Haunted House in the school. It is a fun and scary walk through the auditorium. All students can go through the fourth haunt —”The Glass Eyes” —on October 24th and 25th. The event is interactive and run by students, who have rehearsals a few days before it. The Haunted House has been reviewed positively over the years by students, with it being an enjoyable experience to have with your friends around Halloween, while you are also able to show support to the school and the theatre at the same time.
“Something students might not expect, I think, is the overall quality. We do a very good job, and I think people walking through it don’t expect that at the get-go. Usually, people leave the haunt very impressed and lap it a few times as well.” Anna McReynolds, theatre director, said.

While all of the audience find it fun, so do the scarers themselves. They get to dress up, run around, and yell at their classmates for three days. What’s not to like? All of the scares work very well together to ultimately put on an excellent show for the rest of the school to enjoy, which they claim is scarier than you might expect.
“This year, the students in stagecraft have already devoted their time to piecing this project together, and everything is going well already.” Maria Karim ’26, theatre vice president, said. “While we might just be high school theatre students, students might not expect how much we can put out. Not only the actors, but the behind-the-scenes of the set are absolutely insane, and we can’t wait for everyone to see it.”
Announcements have emerged throughout the school over the past few weeks, and students around Olentangy have started to get excited for this year’s event. The event has been a very popular attraction, which has gained a lot of attention and visits from students this year, and they have hopes to get even more this year.
“Yeah, I’m actually pretty excited to go because I’ve always liked going to haunted houses at Cedar Point and things like that, so I’ll definitely be there.” Jimmy Archer ’28 said.
As excitement starts to brew around the school, students and staff cannot wait to see what McReynolds’ crew has to offer this year for their unique show.
