The past year has ended, and the world has been catapulted into 2021. The new year is a beacon of hope for the future, and because of the toughness of 2020, it is important to set goals for this new start.
New Year’s resolutions give the individuals who make them a good action to look forward to. This is important to students because it can help give a reason to continue to work at school after half the year is past.
“My New Year’s resolution this year was to procrastinate less and stay ahead of my schoolwork,” Kiruthiga B. ‘23 said.
Resolutions can also help students achieve a better work ethic and organizational skills. The goals people set require hard work and dedication, and this allows the person who sets the goal to learn how to handle it.
“I think having a New Year’s resolution can be beneficial because it motivates you to be a better person even if you don’t end up actually fulfilling your resolution,” Kiruthiga B. said.
The New Year’s resolution does not have to be the usual “work out,” “eat healthy,” or “get good grades.” It can be simple, such as “give out more compliments,” or “stay away from sugary drinks when possible.” Resolutions should be easy to accomplish.
The most important reason that New Year’s resolutions are beneficial is that it sets people up for success. They can improve health, attitude and relationships when they achieve their goals.
