Every year on March 17 people will gather with their closest friends, family and significant other to throw the coolest party ever for St. Patrick’s Day.  This special day normally consists of everyone wearing the color green, unless they wish to get pinched, kids watching parades and adults having a fun time after the sun goes down. However, it is always a good idea to get the day off to a lucky start.

This day usually starts off with people going from store to store to try and find something green to add to their collection, because they realized they have nothing green in their closet. The best option is  always a classic Walmart stop because it obviously has everything someone would need for St. Patrick’s Day. Since they decided to go the day of, all they could find was a shamrock necklace and an extra large shirt which said “Kiss Me, I’m Irish.”

If people are really feeling the spirit of the holiday, they will head to Chicago, where the river runs green. Yes, people will book an expensive flight to Chicago just to see a river change color. Once the river is colored green, there is really nothing else to see, so people start to head home.

While the adults celebrate St Patrick’s’ Day their way, kids celebrate the day by participating and watching parades. Many parades take place during this holiday for kids’ enjoyment. During these parades, parents are standing on the side of the road with their kids wondering when they can finally leave and go have their kind of fun.

To end St. Patrick’s Day, adults over 21 typically decide to have some fun at local bars and restaurants to celebrate the special holiday. They will grab their friends and family, and head to a popular bar in town. Usually the adults only have about one non alcoholic drink for the whole night.

St. Patrick’s day is a national holiday which is celebrated by people all over the world who enjoy wearing fake beards and the color green, attending annual parades and hanging out with their closest friends and family through the night. After the day is over, the countdown for the next St. Patrick’s day is on, because no one can wait to celebrate it all over again.
